THE PRICE OF MEAT.
TO THE EDITOR. SIK, —In answer to "'Radical," in this morning's Timea, I may say that I attend the Burnside market every Wednesday, and I have never seen sheep sold for *five shillings, only an odd one or two that go into the digesters. And they ' have their backs arched up like whippets, and I don't think "Radical" would like .. a joint off one of them. Good wether mutton is fetching up to 45s apiece at Burnside market, and, as far as cattle are concerned, good fat cattle are fetching £2O or more. But if " Radical" wants a bit of cheap meat h e should asked his butcher to get him a piece of old cow beef, which they are selling from £3 upwards, but I would not guarantee it to brj tender.—l am, etc., Tiny.
