REGENT THEATRE PICNIC.
The management of the Regent Theatre entertained the staff and friends at a Picnic yesterday at Evansdale. The party, numbering about 45, left Dunedin by bus and cars at 10 a.m., and proceeded to Rochforte paddock. Lunch, afternoon tea, and tea were provided by the management. The weather conditions were ideal. During the day tennis and cricket games were played by some of those present, and a number of races were run. The following are the winners of the princinal events:— Boys’ Race.—Peter Watt. Ladies’ Plum and Spoon Race.—Mrs J. Meldrum. Three-legged Race.—Mr and Miss Winning. Married Men’s Race. —Mr Greenfield. Throwing the Cricket Ball.—Miss Boreham. Relay Race.—Mr and Miss Bolton. Booby Prize (last in most races). — Mr J. Meldrum. Men’s Staff Race. —Mr Yates. Ladies’ Staff Race. —Miss Aldridge.
