THE DUNEDIN-PORT CHALMERS ROAD.
TO THE EDITOR. Sin, —With reference to the DunedinPort Chalmers road, a correspondent a few days ago wrote in your paper that Port Chalmers was but of step because it wanted a better road to Dunedin, If that is so, tile other people must be backstepping. It is a wonderful road. Photographs of it should be taken and hung in the Old Identities’ Museum. Port Chalmers, 1 understand, is paying fits share of £4OO per mile for the upkeep of the road. Will your correspondent, “Out of Step,” be good enough to write and tell US where the money goes? I believe the road is innocent. —I am, etc.. „ Puzzled, Port Chalmers, February 25.
