THE SOCIALISTS’ LAND POLICY.
TO THE EDITOR. Sh-j—Xow that Mr Neilson has headed his letters “ Socialists’ Land Policy,” I ask him if he will see that the present Labour Party goes under the name of “ Socialist Party ” at the next general i election and does not mislead the workers with the name “ Labour Party.” A true | Labour Party is in favour of eight hours’ [ work and of paying a man what he is worth for the work he does. It is not in favour of strikes, nor does it mislead the workers by quoting books written hundreds of years ago by agitating Socialists and causing so much trouble in all industries throughout the world. Mr Neilson says that it private ownership did not exist we, as a community, could select land hero and there as we thought suitable and at once proceed to erect a house thereon. As your correspondent, all through big -wirtings, has I said there should be no man-made laws, j I ask him how, if Jack builds a house, ;he going to stop Bill from coming along ! and living in that house? Are we to be 1 like the rabbits—two rabbits making a I warren and four lazy rabbits coming along and living in the warren in the real Socialists’ style
Mr Neilson is childish in quoting Robinson Crusoe, and furnishes just another instance of the Socialists’ stupid ignorance, trying to mislead the simple-minded to join the band of Socialists. My reply to the rest of Mr Neilson’s letter is to ask him: (X) Does he think the Socialists will he able to take everything that is privately owned without bloodshed? (2) Does he believe in the saying “ Let eats and dogs fight, hut don’t teach little children to fight to tear out each others’ eyes ” ? —I am, etc.. Queer Fellow. February 27.
