ELIMINATION IN BRITAIN. / OBJECTS OP NEW COMPANY. (United Press Association;)' (By Electrlo Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, February 27, Received Feb. 28, at 9 p.m.) The elimination of redundant and obsolate shipyards, more economical working through concentrated production, and financial assistance to shipbuilders aro among the avowed objects of the National Shipbuilders’ Security, Limited, which has been registered with a nominal capital of £IO,OOO, with power to borrow to £3,000,000. The proomters point out that consolidation has been in progress steadily during the past two years, but further concentration is imperative. Warshipbuilding, which before the war represented 25 per cent, of the total tonnage, is now a mere one-seventh. Britain maintains supremacy in the industry, but nationalisation is necessary to place permanently on a sound basis. Most of the big yards favour the scheme.
