M. TARDIEU’S TASK

Tardieu has. not yet completed his Cabinet, and he is apparently allowing political passions to cool after the defeat of M. Chautemps.- He has been holding conversations all day with leading politicians, including M. Caillaux. ATTITUDE OF SOCIALISTS. A DEADLOCK AT PRESENT. LONDON, February 27. (Received Feb. 28, at 9 p.m.) The Paris correspondent of the Daily Herald states that the Radical Socialists maintain their refusal to join any Government under M. Tardieu, but they are willing to participate in the Cabinet if he occupies only a minor position. The deadlock is for the present complete.
