TO TfiE EDITOB. SIB, —I was very pleased to see the letter from " Motorist" in your paper, and would like to endorse what it says in ttie hope that something will be done soori to improve the Evanedale-Merton road. I really think that this road, besides being a discreditable sight in these modern times, ib very dangerous to motorists. It is a wonder that the metal which was thrown on thickly has not caused serious accidents. It was purely luck that the writer was preserved from accident one day this week. In passing a lorry about half a mile on the Dunedin side of the Omimi Dairy Factory, our car skidded on the loose metal, and had there been a bank instead of a friendly ditch, the consequence might have been serious. As_ it was, we were forced to walk to the dairy factory for help, and it took five goodnatured men to extricate our car.—l am, etc., Ladt Motorist. February 25.
