FLOOD PROTECTION. The contractors for the Wethcrstonc Creek flood protection work have made good progress and have practically more than half of the portective work done. This appears to be satisfactorily accomplished as a flood protective measure, and will no doubt be a safeguard for many years. HIGH SCHOOL JUBILEE. The General Committee of the school jubilee met to finalise details in connection with the forthcoming function in January, 1931. Already 300 ex-pupils have registered from all parts of the Dominion, and it was decided to class the pupils in three periods—lßCs to 1880. 1881 to 1010, and 1911 to 1930. The badge colours will be purple, scarlet, and blue respectively. LAWRENCE RAILWAY STATION. The Railways Department's slnif has completed the installation of electric light in the station yards, and the improvement is favourably commented, on by passengers.
