GROUP SETTLEMENTS.
-WESTERN AUSTRALIAN LOSS. VALUATIONS HEAVILY REDUCED. The first report by the Group Settlemcnt valuation Board wag presented to the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia last month. It deals with 327 group holdings. The expenditure and accrued interest these properties amounts to: 41,113,197, and the; valuations fixed by “e board, which are final, amount to 80 that . approximately twothirds of the original capitalisation must bo written off. , In a number of instances the valuations fall, considerably short of the accrued interest. Group holdings numbering 1416 still remain to be valued, but it is believed that the worst cases of over-capitalisation have been dealt with.
