DUNEDIN' HOMING PIGEON CLUB.
TIMARU-DUNEDIN RACE. The Dunedin Homing Pigeon Club flew the final race of its young bird seasonon Saturday from Timaru, an airline distance of 106 miles. The birds had a fine day and showed their appreciation by putting up fast times. The stntieumaster liberated 74 birds from 19 lofts at 12 noon, and the winning bird timed in at 2.15 p.m., completing the distance in two hours 15 minutes. Results, in yards per minute:— J. Hargraves’s Master Bill, 1375 .. 1 G. Ruxton’s Prince Charlie, 1371 .. 2 L. Tonks’s Len Wood, 1370 3 W. Hargreave’s Bon Chance, 1369 .. 4 J. Scoullar’s Sun Maid, 1367 .. .. 5 Birds entered by G. Coutts, H. Millard, A, Stevenson, S. Lynn, A. Gillam, F. Jones, W r . Douglas, I. Frost, R. Parker, J. Still, L. Barnett, C. Conley, G. Moffatt, and D. Murray also flew.
