CHINESE CARNIVAL.
On Saturday night His Majesty’s Theatre, Fullers’ Hall, and Victoria Hall were all crowded with pleasureseekers bent on obtaining the maximum of amusement out of the Chinese carnival which is at present being held there in aid of the funds of the St. John Ambulance Brigade. The same programme as has been presented on the stage every night since the carnival was opened was again offered, and was thoroughly enjoyed by all. The dancing of Gladys Crossan, Dale Austen, and Fred Wauchop was the feature of the stage presentation, while Mollie Andrews, Jack Nelson, and Norman Lemmon provided enjoyable vocal numbers. Excellent business was done bv the many stalls in Fullers’ Hall, and the cabaret in Victoria Hall was taxed to its utmost to provide floor space for the number of couples who desired to dance. It was undoubtedly one of the most successful nights the carnival has yet experienced. The entertainment will be continued this week.
