THROWN FROM MOTOR CYCLE. ONE MAN KILLED AND ANOTHER INJURED. {Per United Press Association.) AUCKLAND, May 4. Henry Morrow, aged 55, of Grey Lynn, Auckland, a married man, with four children, was killed when thrown from a motor cycle at about G o’clock last evening, near Bond street, on the Great North road. Another man named Spiers was found unconscious alongside the machine* and was admitted to hospital. He is still unable to give any coherent account of the accident, which nobody else saw. SERVICE CAR OVERTURNS. PASSENGER ADMITTED TO HOS- ■ PITAL. (Peb United Press Association.) HAWERA, May 5. Mumford Wilson, a married man, 34 years of age, manager of the Racing Farm (Ltd.), Wellington, was admitted to the Hawera Hospital yesterday, suffering from serious injuries received as the result of a service car overturning on the Main South road, near Patea. Reported missing from his home at 87 Westminster street yesterday morning, a. man named George Booth Eyre, aged 52, an employee of the New Brighton Borough Council, was found on a track in the New Brighton Domain at 11 o’clock with his throat cut. He was ■not dead. Eyre was .taken to the hospital, where his condition is reported to be serious. DEATH FROM POISONING. (Per United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, May 5. - A resident of Lyttelton, David S. Dodds, a married man with three children, was found dead late on Saturday night in circumstances ■ pointing to poisoning. He was in business as a dyer and cleaner. MOTOR CYCLIST SEVERELY INJURED. (Per United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, May 5. Arthur Knight, ’a young man who was motor cycling, collided with a car in Lincoln road last evening and suffered a compound fracture of the right thigh and a broken right arm. In addition, hia right foot. was almost severed at the ankle and had to be amputated. A FATAL FALL. (Per United Press Association.) TIMARU, May 6. At the South Canterbury Hunt Club s meeting, held at Waitawa yesterday, the whip, James M'Donald, aged 22 years, a resident of Geraldine, was thrown while negotiating a fence. His neck was broken. DROWNED IN LAKE WAKATIPU. (Per United Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, May 5. A young man named Alexander St. Clair M'Gregor, aged 22, single, of Invercargill, was was spending a holidav in Queenstown, was drowned in the lake near the Queenstown wharf in the early hours of this morning. An inquest will be hell at Queenstown on Monday. WIDOW FOUND DEAD. \ (Per United Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, May 5. j 6 r. Margaret Smith, aged 68, a widow, was found hanging in the hall of her home, where she lived alone, yesterday afternoon. The discovery was made by her son, who had called to visit his mother. The deceased appeared to have been dead for some days.
