TROUBLED MEXICO
THE REBELLION CRUSHED. PREVIOUS REPORTS CONFIRMED. (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) WASHINGTON, May 1. A confidential despatch received today confirmed the reports from Mexico that the rebellion which began on March 3 has been crushed. This is the result of the effort to destroy the Portes Gil Government, and has been expected by the American officials, who during the first week of the rebellion offered .moral and material aid to the Federals.—Australian Press Association.
