■ 1 —— (Faoji Our Own Correspondent.) MILTON. May 2. FOOTBALL. The Toko First Grade team has a bye in the South Otago banner competition on Saturday, and the club’s Second and Third Grade teams will play matches against Star (referee, Mr D. Andrews) and Clutha 111 (referee, Mr* Curran) respectively on the Milton ground. Union meets Waitahuna at Lovell’s Flat. The district teams are as follows: Toko ll.—Baker, Smith, Sheehv, Carruthers, Olver, M. Coombe, Littlejohn, Heads, Haasen, Davidson, Robinson, Jones, Herbert, Anderson Light, Toko lll.—Hill, Stewart, Ashton, Wells, Small, Elliott .Pringle, Hand, Kreft, S. Gray, Mitchell, O’Shaughnessy, Hansen. •Lambert, C, Campbell. Union.—Allan (2), Boyd, L. Robinson, Sligo, Booth, Lilburne, Alexander, M‘Noe, Moffitt; Thomson, Stedman, Forrester, Elliott, Clark (2). W. G. Wilson (formerly of Kaikorai team) has been appointed coach of Toko Senior Grade team, Mr A. Wightman coach of the Second Grade, and Mr D. M. Andrews coach of the Third Grade. THE HOSPITAL. The accommodation at Milton Hospital is fully occupied at present, with 10 patients in the institution—five males and fiye females. PERSONAL. Bishop Richards will conduct confirmation services at the local Anglican Church on Sunday morning. The funeral took place at Clinton Cemetery to-day of Mrs Annie Robins, widow of Mr George Robins. The deceased, who was a well-known resident of Milton, hadbeen ailing , for several months. She leaves a family of three sons and three daughters. TOKO HIGH SCHOOL. The' recently-appointed committee of the Toko District High School has decided to discontinue the practice of distributing prizes at the break-up ceremonies, and to present certificates instead. The money thus saved will be expended to the extent of £ls on the purchase of books for the school library. Mr W. Dickson, of Mosgiel, has been appointed janitor to succeed Mr Sanson (resigned). Dr J. G. Stewart, the Rev. W. Gatman, and Mr W. H. Wells have been appointed delegates to attend meetings of the Otago School Committees* Association. LADIES’ HOCKEY. The South Otago Association’s shield matches will commence on Saturday, May 11, when Bruce B will meet Milton A and Bruce A will meet Milton B; Clutha, a bye. Kaitangata has not entered,a team for the season.
