COAL MINING INDUSTRY
THE CRISIS IN AUSTRALIA. A LONG FIGHT PROBABLE. - (United Press Association.) (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) SYDNEY, April 30. (Received April 30, at 5.5 p.m.) The coal miners’ counter proposals will be considered to-day by the State Cabinet, but the men fear rejection, in which event a long fight is anticipated. Various gasworks report that their supplies of coal arc ample, and the railways will he able to secure all the coal required from their own mine and from non-aasociated workings.
