OBITUARY
MR G. G. HALDANE. AUSTRALIAN POSTAL OFFICIAL, (United Press Association./ (By Electric Telegraph—Copyright.) MELBOURNE, April 30. The death is announced of Mr G. G. Haldane, chief finance inspector of the Commonwealth postal services, aged 55. He came from Nelson (New Zealand). Mr Haldane was acting director of postal services during Mr H. P. Brown’s absence in England and America last year. LORD YOUNGER. FATAL SEIZURE IN THEATRE. LONDON, April 20. The death is announced of Lord Younger, who had a seizure in a West End theatre, and died en route to the hospital.—Australian Press Association —United Service. George Younger of Lockie was created a viscount in 1923. He was born in October, 1851. He was chairman of George Younger and Son, Ltd., brewers, Alloa; a director of the National Bank of Scotland, the North British and Mercantile Insurance Company, Lloyd’s Bank, and the Southern Railway. He was member for Ayr Burghs from 1900 to 1922, and chairman Of the Unionist Party organisation from 1910 to 1923, and treasurer from 1923 till the time of his death.
