(Received April 28, at 5.5 p.m.) The Association football, cup final was played at Wembley in fine weather before 93.000 spectators, including the Prince of Wales, to whom the teams Were presented before the match started. LONDON, April 28. (Received April 28, at 11 p.m.) The cup tie. occasioned a remarkable invasion to London by excursion trains, of which the first arrived at 3 o’clock in the morning. The trains brought 50.000 people from all over Britain. Portsmouth and Bolton brought their own bands, and hundreds of individual supporters carried mouth organs, concertinas, and even portable gramophones. The cup tie crowd is’ one of the noisest and jolliest in the world. The day broke wet and depressing, but conditions then greatly improved. The Irish Guards Band led the community singing, terminating with “Abide With Me.” When the Prince of Wales arrived lie was received with deafening cheers. After the game, the Prince handed the cup to Seddon, Bolton’s captain, and medals to the other players. A, telegram from the King acknowledged the Football Association’s good wishes and regretting he was unable to be present, Portsmouth played the better game in i the first half, only Bolton’s defence, through the brilliancy of Haworth, right back, preventing a score.
