BALCLUTHA DISTRICT NEWS. (From Our Own Correspondent.) BALCLUTHA, February 14. SUPPLIERS’ PICNIC. Suppliers to the Stirling dairy factory, together with pupils fi'om the Stirling School, held a very successful picnic at Wilsher Bay yesterday. The weather was delightfully summery, and evervth'ng passed off well. The übiquitous motor bus played a large part in conveying nicnickers to the scene of their enjoyment. BOWLING. Eighteen entries have been received for the South Otago bowling tournament on Saturday, and it has been decided to play 10 rinks on the Kaitangata green and eight on the Balclutha greeu. BRIDGE REOPENED, Motorists will be pleased to learn that the Arthurton bridge, closed since September last owing to a new deviation, is again open for light traffic. BALCLUTHA BRIDGE.

O’Pee's property at Kaka Point last night, when a high wind fanned smouldering embers from the garage fire of the previous nvht into flames. The back portion of the dwelling house was consumed before the fire was got under control.
