Mr Micholson, m Ids letter, stated that a money gilt was of more value co missionaries than a box, not only for its greater purchasing power m Sydney, but owing to the fact that they could purchase there in bond, and duty free. Re also referred strongly to the action of unscrupulous Fiench traders m supplying liquor to the natives. With regard to missionary parcels for Home and Maori Missions, Mrs Bruce strongly advised all branches lo sene! parcels by post rather than by rail, botn for reasons of economy and convenience lo His missionaries. A welcome was extended to Mrs Blackie, whose name is so well known in connection with the Women's Training Institute. Mrs Biocide briefly responded. Thereafter an adjournment was made tor luncheon which hod been provided by the local ladies. The business was again taken up in the afternoon, the attendance being consider ably larger than at the morning session Amongst those present in the afternoon was Mrs Kidd, a former icsident and sister of the Revs. John and Janies M'Cavv. She was cordially welcomed. The devotional portion was conducted by the Rev. W. W. French, after which Mrs R. R. Gngor gave a comprehensive report of the recent conference in Christchurch. Mrs Stewart also spoke. Reference was made to the passing of two most valued workers in connection with the P.W.M.U. movement, Mrs Allan and Mrs Cargo. Motions of sympathy with the families concerned wore passed. At the conclusion a hearty vote of thanks was accorded to the ladies of Knitangaia for the excellent manner in which the visitors had been entertained. After the pronouncing |jl the benediction afternoon tea ivas handed round. During the course of the day solos were rendered by Mrs Oeggie and Miss Robertson. Mr F. F UiTikov, Hie area organiser of the NoLicense League will visit Kaitungaln on Tue-day, March 13.
