THE WARATAHS ENTERTAINED. DUKE AND DUCHESS AS HOSTS. (Press Association—By Telegraph OopyrLjbt / LONDON, January 31. (Received Feb. 1, at 9 p.m.) The Royal Family paid another compliment to the Waratahs, when the team was invited to tea at 145 Piccadilly, the home of the Duke and Duchess of York. Princess Betty was carried into the dining room in the arms of her nurse, and smiled a welcome. They were partaking of tea, but everything stopped and the team stood to receive her. Betty waved her hand and chuckled, and while she shook hands with the three members who were nearest to her, the Duke and Duchess chatted with the team.—A. and N.Z. Cable. DINNER AT SAVOY HOTEL. A DISTINGUISHED GATHERING. LONDON, January 31. (Received Feb. 1, at 9 p.m.) Lord Lonsdale presided at a dinner at the Savoy Hotel at which the British Sportsmen’s Club and the Olympic Association entertained the Waratahs and the British Rugby team who toured Argentina. The assembly was representative of all sports, and included Lords Stradbroke, Clydesdale, and Decies.—A. and N.Z. and Sydney Sun Cable.
