ALCOHOL AS A FOOD
BETTER THAN MEAT. SIR ARBUTHNOT LANE S VIEWS. (Press Association—By Telesraph—Copyright ) LONDON, Jar. ary 31. Sir Arbuthnot Lane, addressing tire True Temperance Association, said: “ Alcohol is an infinitely better food than meat. The deaths in England from alcohol are infinitesmal, but how many die from meat? Professional men and those working under great brain strain know the value of alcohol. I say emphatically that alcohol is of great value to the human race if used rightly. It does more to make the wheels of life go round properly than any other food taken in the same quantity.”—A. and N.Z. Cable.
