Mrs Alexander Hardinge and a commiteo of ladies are busy raising funds for the building extensions which arc contemplated ' at the Mothercratt Training Centro, Cromwell House, High„ate The intention is to build on the property, which has an extensive garden, a hostel for nurses in training. At present a fiat in a large institutional building some distance away is rented for the nurses’ accommodation. A cottage for several nursing mothers and their babies is also to be erected. . . The money has been coming in steadily. One American lady interested -in the centre subscribed £IOOO. A special effort, however, is to be made by the Ladies Committee on December 8, when a ball is to be held at Claridges. Tickets are to be sold at 2gns each, and every effort is being made to ensure a large attendance and a consequent satisfactory financial A special feature of the ball will be a mannequin parade which Lady Plnnket, just back from abroad, is to lead. Many society women of the younger set will also take part in the parade. Among them are Ladv Kathleen Crichton, Lady Maureen Stanley, Lady Betty Butler. Ladv Patricia Ward, and Miss Pamela Ward.
