THE MALARIA SCOURGE

A VALUABLE PREPARATION. REMARKABLE CURES CLAIMED. (Pres* Association —By Telegraph—Copyright.) BERLIN, September 29. Professor Mueblens, speaking nt a congress of scientists and doctors at Dusseldorf, claimed remarkable cures of malaria as the result of synthetic p:eparation named “plasmochin,” which the chemists at the Elberfeld dyeworks are producing. It was revealed that Professor Siolo at first experimented with specially infected mental patients, after which 100 malaria victims from all parts of the world were successfully treated at the Hamburg Tropical Institute, showing that “plasmochin” was more effective than quinine, causing both the fever and the parasites to disappear in a few days, aud also eliminatin gthe permanence of tropical malaria. Professor Muehlens added that a combination of “plasmochin” and a small quantity of quinine was even more effectual. He is continuing his experiments. —A. and N.Z. Cable.
