ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

CYCLIST INJURED. (Per United Press Association.) NAPIER. May 26. A cyclist named James Amos was admitted to the hospital early this evening suffering from concussion as a result of being knocked off his cycle by a motor car driven by S. Anderson. The latter met another car when he was about to overtake Amos. Anderson had not room to pass between the other car and the cyclist, and attempted to turn into a side street, but his car skidded, and the rear swung round and hit the rear of the cycle. YOUNG CYCLIST INJURED. A loose chain on his bic cle was responsible for Douglas Linkston, aged 13, of 4 Norfolk street, St. Clair, being admitted to the Dunedin Hospital at 2.30 yesterday afternoon. One leg was injured following his being run ov by a motor car on Cargill road, near the Waterloo Hotel. The boy was cycling along Cargill road ..hen the chain slipped off, jamming in the sprocket wheel, and causing him to lose control of the machine. He swerved and collided with a passing motor car, which knocked him down, the front wheel passing over his leg. The bone is intact, and the injuries are not serious.
