The total rateable value of Auckland City (reports our correspondent) is £2,138,692, according to a report submitted to the City Council on Thursday evening last by the city valuer, Mr P. F. N'otley. In reporting that he had compiled and deposited the valuation list for 1926-27, the valuer said there wore now 25,066 assessments, as compared with 23,882 for last year, which made an inrease of 1204. The additional assessments wore principally the results of land sub-division in Grey Lynn, Remuera and Point Chevalier. The total rateable value was £2,138,592, which amount was subject to revision by an assessment court. Last year’s rateable value, after the revision by the Assessment Court, was £1,972,628, so that there was an increase of £165,964, or 8.4 per cent.
