NEGRO SPIRITUALS

CROWDS FLOCK TO HEAR. METHODIST MOVEMENT. (Freni Association—By Telegraph—Copyright.) LONDON, January 17. A Wesleyan chapel at Tooting was crowded to overflowing when four American, negro musicians sang negro spirituals during a service. The songs included “My Lord’s gonna move this wicked rate, ’ “‘Jesus moves in the middle of the air,” and “Good news, chariots coming.’’ The sinking was punctuated by fervent Amena, instead of applause. The quartette said they were all Methodists and 'were glad to sing in churches when the opportunity offered.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
