WHEAT CONTROL.
QUESTION OF EXTENSION. PRIME MINISTER’S STATEMENT. Ter United Press Association.) ASHBURTON. January 13. The Prime Minister has written to the president of the Mid-Canterbury Executive of the Farmers’ Union (Mr John Brown) that the Government will not extend control beyond the 1925-26 season, but will certainly consider ihe views of any representative meeting' of growers when they are received, and will reply immediately. Mr Brown states that it would seem that the Government, while it will not extend control beyond the 1925-26 season, will, in the light of the decision, consider growers’ views regarding control of this season’s wheat. Accordingly a representative meeting of grower’s will be held here on Tuesday next to consider the whole question.
