ASSOCIATION DAY. The Commercial Travellers and Warehousemen’s Association of Otago bold a “ladies’ night’’’ on Saturday to celebrate the twelfth anniversary of Association Day. There wao a large attendance of members and their friends, Mr James Brown, .president of the United Association, being in the Cl After extending a hearty welcome to the guests Mr Brown gave a resume of the aims and objects of tho association, and referred in glowing terms to the unselfishness, steadfastness, and untiring energy of the pioneers of the organisation. During the evening an excellent programme of music and story was gone through. Selections were given by Begg a orchestra, part songs by tho club’s choir, musical monologues by Mr A. Holnfes, songs by Misses Alice Wilkinson and Lucy James, and Messrs A. Dempster, F. G . Sharp, h. M'Cullough; humorous items., by Messrs W. Brown and A. Clapp. Mr G. J. Scott was the musical director and conductor, and Mr A L Burk acted as accompanist. After the .concert supper was handed round and proceedings. wore brought to a close with a conversazione.
