THE ABRAMS TREATMENT.

Mr Alexander Marky, who recently lectured in Dunedin on the subject of the Abrams treatement, has written to the Prime Minister in the following- terms: In the course of the interview yon were kind enough to grant mo, I suggested the establishment of an experimental Abrams clinic under the supervision of your Government. lam very glad indeed to comply with your request to submit my plan to you in writing, .1 am informed that there arc quite a number of ex-soldiers in New Zealand who are still suffering from the effects of the war, and whose ailments refuse to yield to orthodox methods of treatment. In view of the fact that the Abrams method of treatment has accomplished the seemingly impossible in thousands of cases where every other effort had failed, I propose that your Government establish a free Abrams clinic for the benefit of these unfortunate victims of the World War. Such a clinic would accomplish two very worthy purposes; it would restore to holth and usefulness many of those who are now but a sad burden on the tax-paying citizenry of New Zealand, and it would also furnish the people of Nhw Zealand with invaluable information regarding the efficacy of this much discussed new 1 method of treatment. The establishment of such a clinic would entail very little, if any, expenditure on, the part of your Government. I have the assurance of a number of public-spirited citizens of your country who would gladly donate the necessary equipment, while Dr William H. Pettit, of Auckland, who is conversant with the technique of the Abrams treatment, has kindly offered his services free, should such a clinic be established. The Government of New Zealand has done much fine pioneer work in other fields, and it would be fitting indeed that it should bo the, first' Government in the world to establish such an experimental clinic for its ox-soldiers. I hope you will be in a position to communicate with me before the 29tk of this month, as I should like to make tho necessary arrangements before my return to the United States.
