PUBLIC WORKS FUND.
QUARTERLY STATEMENT. (Pee United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, August 4. The Public Works Fund statement is gazetted with the public accounts for the quarter ended Juno 30. It shows the balance at the beginning as £379,433. Receipts from various sources brought the total to £3.170,284. The expenditure on various works was £827,397; unauthorised expenditure, £50,124: temporary transfer from Consolidated Fund (now restored), £125.000; loan charges, £100; balance at end of quarter. £2,167,662t0ta1, £3,170,234. In the corresponding quarter of 1924 the Public Works Fund receipts totalled £3,253,538. of which £1,252,629 was expended on various works.
