WIFE DESERTION
ONE MONTH IN GAOL, (Peb United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, August 4. After having deserted two wives and having gone away to Auckland with a third woman, R. E. Hooker, a middle-aged man, was sentenced to one month’s imprisonment this morning on a charge of disobedience of maintenance orders. The first wife divorced him.
