ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.

DEATH ON TRAIN. (Per United Press Association.l AUCKLAND, June 12. Robert John Buchanan, a married man, aged 45, a clerk in the railway office, hoarded a train at. Newmarket at 9 a.m., and was found dead in the carriage when the. train arrive 1 at the city 10 minutes later. He had been employed in the Railway Department for 30 years. A man namM John Campbell, aged about 30 years, was admitted to the Hospital last evening suffering from injuries received through being knocked down by a motor car at the corner of Manse and Stafford streets. It is understood that he is seriously 111. William Geisler, aged about 70, was admitted to the Hospital about 6.15 p.m. with bodily abrasions. He was picked up on the road at Woodhaugh and had apparently been knocked down by a vehicle. Ho is on the seriously ill list. FATALITY AT BALCLUTHA. A BOY KILLED. STRUCK BY CAR. A tragic accident occurred at Ralclntha on Thursday morning when a boy named William Cochrane, aged 12 years, was knocked down by a motor car and fatally injured. He was taken to the Dunedin Hospital, and died there about 11 o’clock in the morning. The lad was running behind a horse and cart, when a piece of roofing iron struck him on the head and caused him to fall. A motor car coming towards the boy went over him, and he was picked up unconscious, and conveyed to his home. An inquest will bo formally opened this morning and adjourned to Balclutha. FATALITY AT BURNSIDE. A SHUNTER KH.LEo. Frederick A. J. lion foil, aged about 38 years, a married man with eight children, and employed as a shunter at Burnside, was fatally injured at Burnside last night through being crushed between an engine and a meat wagon while he was carrying out shunting work. Assistance was sent for immediately tho accident happened, and the wagon was jacked up while the man was extricated. Ho was removed to the Dunedin Hospital by ambulance, and on arrival he was found to bo dead. Dr Ivorach examined the body, which was then removed to the morgue. An inquest will bo hold.
