NIGHT FLYING.
LONDON'S "PILLAR OF FIRE" BEACON. A wonderful new red air beacon, appearing at night like a "pillar of fire," and visible to airmen at a distance of CO or 30 miles, is now in operation at the London Air Station, and the air lines o[ Imperial Airways are regularly completing the last portion of their from the Continent to after dark. This great beacon is the latest addition to the chain of aerial lighthouses stietchuig from London to the coast, and it is intended that as the hours of daylight become phorter, still greater portions of the flight from the Continent shall be mado after dusk until finally the whole of the flight v.ill be made in the dark, enabling the evening serviocn to be continued through the winter months.
