(Pss United Press Association.) NEW PLYMOUTH, September 19. In the Magistrate’s Court to-day Thomas Stanley Humphrey was fined £7 and , costs on two charges of unlawfully talking opossums at Oakura and being illegally in possession of 12 opossum skins. The same accused was also remanded to Auckland on a charge of securing £6 15s from W. R, Orman by at Onkleigb in November last and failing to account for tho same as required. HASTINGS, September 19. Reports confirm the presence of a fatal in certain localities affecting sheen. The victims show no indications of sickness, but are found dead, and a post mortem fai] g to disclose the cause. WELLINGTON, September 19. Robert Smondon Bush, formerly clerk in the Native Trust Department, was committed for trial on a charge of having stolen £93 from the department and £53 from Thomas John Mulligan. Bush is alleged t© have appropriated moneys coming to the department from clients and to have falsified the books. Mulligan, a clerk in the department, was in hospital, and Bush obtained his Savings Bank book by false pretences and drew out £53.
