RUGBY FOOTBALL.
OTAGO v. SOUTHLAND. Tho 1924 season will be brought to a close this afternoon, when the representative match. Southland v. Otago, will bo played at Carisbrook. This game is being looked forward to with a great deni of interest, and is expected to provide a close and spectacular exhibition. Southland have given a good account of themselves in alj their matches so far this season, and will be keen to uphold their good record, while Otago, on the other hand, although haying given rather disappointing displays tin's year, will lie anxious to put up a good game. Tho presence of sub-union players in the Dark Blues’ team will no doubt add considerably to the interest of tho contest. Mr A. Eckhold will act as referee. As a curtain-raiser the match between the referees of Otago and Southland will he played. This game should be vorv interesting, as the football-going public will have an opportunity of seeing several exropresentativo players again in action. The box plan is open at the Bristol.
POST AND TELEGRAPH MATCH. The annual match between representatives of tho Post and Telegraph Departments of Otago and Southland will be played on the Montecillo ground at 1.30 p.m. to-dav. The following are tho teams Southland: M’Phorson, Cmickshank. Bell, Adams, M’Korrow, Naismith, O’Leivy, Mayson, Rone, Cranstown. M'Grognr. * MTCeuzie, Taylor, Donnelly, Dunbar, Troon. Otago: Templeton, Slade. Knight, Duff, Callender, Beck, Brooks. Noble, Webber. Lawless, ’Oapitaneas, Brough, Woods, O’Callaghan, Sheriff; emergencies. Lewis and Murtagh.
