THE SARJEANT GALLERY.
A MOST VALUABLE ACQUISITION.
(Per United Press Association.) WANGANUI, September 15. At Wanganui yesterday afternoon, in the presence of a very large assembly at the Sarjeant Gallery. Lord: Jellieoe handed over to the city the six magnificent pictures presented to the gallery by Lord Leverhulme. These pictures are “Curiosity” (by Von Bie.ss), “Healthy Appetite” (Sadler). “A Greek Water Carrier in Egypt” (Sir William Richmond), “Thisbe” (Burne-Jones) “The Toast is Britain” (Fred Roe), “The Fountain of Youth” (Burno-Jones). This collection has evoked enthusiastic praise from art critics.
