DEATH FROM REVOLVER WOUND. (Per United Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, August 26. Arthur 'Reginald Busbell, aged 41 years, formerly a captain in the Imperial army, died at the Christchurch Hospital to-day as the result of a revolver wound in the head, presumably self-inflicted. CHILD SEVERELY BURNED. (Per United Press Association.) NELSON, August- 26. The fivc-yoar-old daughter of Mr Fitzgerald (Church of Christ minister) sustained burns this morning which necessitated her removal to tho hospital. The child was dad in a flannelette nightgown, and was standing in front of tho fire when a spark set the garment alight. 'I ho child ran to her father, who immediately wrapped a rug round her, putting out Die flames. Tho extent of her injuries is not yet known. FOUND HANGING (Per United Press association.) CHRISTCHURCH, August 26. Hugh Rowntree, aged 51, a butcher, residing at Beckenham, was found hanging from a rafter at the rear of a butcher’s shop in Sydenham this afternoon. He had been missing from his homo since Monday. FOOTBALL INJURIES. During the progress of the Rugby game yesterday between Southland and Christchurch Boys’ High Schools, two Christchurch players were injured. M. Calder sustained a broken collar bone, hut after receiving attention at. the Hospital was able to leave the institution. In tho second case R. Sullivan received a kick in the solar plexus, which necessitated his retiring from the field. In tho match between Otago and Tiniaru, S. Blue, playing for Timani, had his finger nail torn off. The injuries are not serious in any case, and the players will leave for their homes to-day. WATERSIDE. WORKER INJURED. Albert Carter, a waterside, worker, residing at Wickliffe terrace. Port Chalmers, was injured yesterday morning through fulling down a ’hatchway while removing hatches ou the steamer Trerneadow. Ho fell about 20ft. landing on the phosphate cargo in the hold, and was taken to the cottage hospital, where it was found that his injuries, though severe, were not of a dangerous nature.
