TEST OF ENDURANCE
MAN OUTLASTS HORSE. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON, August 24. In a six-day’s contest of ten hours daily, at the Crystal Palace, C. W. Hart (ex-champion -walker, aged 60), covered 245 miles 880 yards, heating a horse ridden by Arthur Nightingale (an ox-cross country jockey and three times winner of the Grand National), by seven miles 1022 yards. The horse was withdrawn two hours before the finish, leaving tho man the winner.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
