AMERICANS’ PERILOUS TRIP. VANCOUVER, August 22. The United States cruiser Richmond reports; —“Battling through dense fog over the last part of their perilous trip, and feeling their way towards Frcdcriksdalwit.lv the utmost caution, Lieutenants Smith and Nelson landed an hour apart under extremely dangerous conditions. Lieutenant Smith made 825 miles in nine hours 55 minutes.’’ It is believed by some officers on the Richmond that Locatelli may have proceeded PrcdericksdaL The Americans plan to leave for Ivigtut to-day (hriday) and hop from thence to Indian Harbour, Labrador. —Reuter. NAVAL SEARCH FOR LOCATELLI ORDERED. VANCOUVER, August 22. A message from the United States cruiser Richmond near Greenland, states that the ship, with the cruiser Raleigh and the destroyer Barry, have been ordered to search east of Cape Farewell, Greenland, for Lieutenant Locatelli, the Italian globe flyer, who accompanied the American aeroplanes, but failed to arrive with them at Irederiksdal, Greenland. — A. and N.Z. Cable. ESKIMOS TO JOIN IN SEARCH. OTTAWA, August zo. (Received August 24, at 5.5 p.m.) According to a despatch from Battle Harbour, Labrador, a wireless message from the steamer Lawrence at Greenland says that a party of Eskimos has been organised to search for Locatelli, the missing Italian aviator, between Cape Farewell, the southern point of Greenland, and Ivigtut, on the south-westi coast, north of where the American aviators landed.—Reuter.
