A CURIOUS APPOINTMENT

(Received August 22, at 8 p.m.) The Government has appointed the Socialist oppositionist M. do Brouckere as one of its delegates to the League of Nations Assembly. The appointment is remarkable as the second Theonis Cabinet dismissed M. do Brouckero from a similar position on the ground of his opposition to the occupation of the Ruhr.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
