FIRES.
BLAZE AT WAVERLEY. DRAPERY ESTABLISHMENT DESTROYED. (Pee United Press Association.) WANGANUI, August 12. A fire at Waverley yesterday evening destroyed Shipton's drapery establishment and dwelling/ The family bad a narrow escape. Only a few articles of clothing were saved,‘and the adjoining buildings were saved with difficulty. The building was insured for £I2OO. OUTBREAK IN MOTOR GARAGE. FOUR VEHICLES DESTROYED. (Per United Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, August 12. Shortly after midnight a motor parage at Invercargill belonging to W. Frew, carrier, and containing two motor lorries, a char-a-banc, and a Dodge car, was totally destroyed. The insurances were £llOO, which sum the loss considerably exceeds.
