THE FRUIT INDUSTRY.
JO THIS SDITOB Sin— Being interested in fruitgrowing. I have received a copy of brokers reports on shipments, and I should say these reports are reliable. In my own district, .Cromwell we have the best climatic conditions for ’growing fruit for the overseas market, and it behoves every grower, shipper, or otherwise, to produce the best article. 1 think everyone Icnows the trouble that has been experienced on the local markets through faidtv grading and packing, as a result of which the confidence of broker and consumer bus been lost. Now we hear of our local shippers who boast of being tho exporters of the dominion for quality fruit losing the confidence of the brokers overseas through faulty grading. This, in their infancy as shippers, will cive them an uphill task perhaps for several seasons to regain their fair name. Let' us give of our best, honesty brings its own reward.— 1 am, etc., I RUITOBOWER.
