KILLED BY A MOTOR CAR
DRIVER DOZES AT THE WHEEL. Press Association —By Telegraph—Copyright, LONDON, June 14. The story of how the driver of a motor car caused tho death of a man through dazing at tho wheel was told to the coroner by ■» Christ Church undergraduate, Mr A. A' - . Rankin, nephew of Lord Dynevor. Rankin, in a statement to tho police, said that he had been at a dance at Ids uncle's, and v.as driving slowly, when he must have dozed off. The next thing ho knew ho was lying in the roadway, tho car was overturned, and a man was lying cn the footpath. To the coroner ho said that he did not think it was possible to doze, otf without knowing it, but otherwise lie could not account” for nut seeing the man or for running into and smashing a lamp post. He had not had any sleep since the previous morning. Lord Dynovor's chauffeur gave evidence that Rankin was stiictly sober, and added that there were times when drivers felt momentarily drowsy. The jury exonerated Rankin,
