DEATH FROM THE AIR
PROJECTILES DIRECTED BY WIRELESS. EXPERIMENTS WITH NEW TERROR. Pros* Association —Uy Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, June 18. (Received June 19, at 8.50 p.m.) Tho Daily Chronicle says that secret War Office experiments with aerially launched, wirelessly controlled projectiles are bearing important fruit. An entirely now type of aircraft, described as ah torpedo boats, carry aloft torpedoes with wings which sustain 4 planes, rudders, and elevators like those of an ordinary aeroplane. When they are fired the torpedoes glide to the earth, wirelessly steered, from the aeroplane towards their objective. Tho experiments suggest that squadrons of aerial torpedo craft could possibly destroy any objective, regardless of its size, from a, distance of many miles.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
