SEASON IN MELBOURNE. DISPUTE WITH MANAGEMENT. Paeas Association —By Telegraph—Copyright. MELBOURNE, June IV. (Received June 17, at 8.40 p.m.) There was a remarkable scene at Oscar Asche’s farwcll appearance. Immediately the hist lines were spoken and the curtain was dropped the National Anthem was played and the exit doors were opened, but the audience sat unmoved. The orchestra commenced another number, and then Mr Asche stepped on the stage accompanied by Miss Champion. Mr Ascho pointed to the orchestra and said, “They will not let mo speak.” Miss Champion jumped into tho orchestral well and snatched tho baton from the conductor’s hand. Mr Asche then made a speech, referring to his relations with the management. Sir George Tallis subsequently informed the press that tho Asche seasons had resulted in heavy losses to the firm, and in view of certain claims which were pending ho regretted that Mi Asche had attempted to ventilate his grievances before the curtain.
