The first call, which was received at 7.21, was the result of a chimney fire in Hanover street, and the second came at 8.22 from the premises of Messrs Swift and Co., in Bond street, where the floor in the office was on fire.' This outbreak was suppressed without difficulty, and only slight damage was done. The third call, which was received at 8.35, was the sequel to a chimney fire in the Bank of New Zealand in Princes street.
