A LUXURIOUSLY FITTED SHJP. Press Association—By Telegraph—Copyright. LONDON. June 16. Tho Aorangi, tho largest steamer in the New Zealand service, is of 17,580 tons, 60OIt long, with a speed of 17£ knots. She was built to the order of the Union Steam Ship Company to ply between Auckland and Vancouver, and will be launched at Govan on June 17. She is essentially a passenger ship, and is luxuriously fitted up. Her engines are of the Diesel type, and she is claimed to be the largest vessel afloat with this kind of power.—Reuter. Tne Aorangi is being built for the Union Company by tho Fairfield Company. Her four Sulzer engines will develop 10,000 h.p. The Union Company is also having built a 12,000-ton motor ship to trade between the United Kingdom and Australia. She will be fitted with the most modern devices for meat carriage.
