ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
(Per United Press Association.) NAPIER, November 2. B. B. Creagh, a member of the Harbour Board staff, who was sevorly burnt in yesterday’s explosion, is progressing satisfactorily. A complete recovery is expected. An accident of a painful nature occurred at Ownka Valley recently, when a girl in her teens—Miss Hannah M‘Neil, a daughter of Mr J. M’Ncil—nearly lost an eye. Miss M’Neil was baking, and in bending to pick up a buttered paper which had fallen on to the floor, struck a glass dish Which was standing on the corner of the table. The dish broke, and indicted a severe gash on her forehead and cheek. After receiving first-aid the sufferer was taken by motor car to the Dunedin Hospital for treatment. On account cf the bleeding of the wound halts had to be made en route at Glennmaru and at Balelutha. An ooeratiou was performed at the Dunedin Hospital, and some pieces of glass were removed from tho eye.
