(Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Juno 29. Tho railway revenue on North Island lines for tho four-weekly period ended May 26 was £295,789 and tho expenditure £218,474. The corresponding figures in the South Island were; Revenue, £211,751; expenditure, £188,185. CHRISTCHURCH, June 29. Martin Matthew' Holland, postal officer at Barfield, was charged to-day with the theft of a postal package. The police said that 709 postal packages, had been missed from Darfield over a long period, and that 12 charges would be laid against Holland, who was remanded till Wednesday.
