J.C.W. “NEW COMICS.”

“A NIGHT OUT.” The announcement that J. C. Williamson (Ltd.) will inaugurate am important season of musical comedy, commencing Thursday next, at His Majesty’s Theatre, is of unusual publio interest. The first production, '.a Night Out,” will be played for the first five nights of an 11 nights’ season. Good wine needs no bush, and the J. C. Williamson New Musical Comedy Company needs no undue praise. Of all the J.u.W. attractions that periodically tour the dominion, there is probably none more genuinely popular- than the Musical Comedy Company. This is due to a great extent possibly to the excellent artistic nature of the organisation, together with a repertoire that invariably challenges comparison with other standard musical shows. Certainly there is no artist more eagerly looked for than Miss Maud Fane. This, exceptionally clever artist will make her re-ap-pearance here on Thursday next as "Marcell©” in “A Night Out,” a famous musical play taken from the French, and to be seeh for the first time here. Another comedian always welcome is Mr W. S. Percy, who will be seen as “Pinglet,” a part said to fit the genial funmaker like the proverbial glove. There are a number of exceptionally clever people in a long cast. Specially prominent are Messrs Field, Fisher, tool and Hogue, Cyril Ritchard, Cecil Kelleway. Jack Hooker, Misses Madge Elliott. Millie Engler, Floie Allen. “A Night Out,” which is in two acts and five scenes, is described by one critk) as “an effervescent, incomparable, and utterly irresistible kaleidoscopic musical triumph, bubbling and sparkling, a full 60 seconds to every minute, a whirl of girl and a wealth of beautiful dances. “A Night Out” will be played for the first five nights, and will be followed for the next four by “Mary,” the season concluding with two nights of “Oh! Lady, Lady!” The box plans for “A Night Out” will be opened at the Bristol Piano Company on Monday next.
